E’ per Sempre – Press Release
Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo
San Marco 4303 – Venezia
Venerdì 7 maggio alle ore 11:00
Excess and waste of plastic materials are opposed to the lack of certainties and values.
We live in a world where the accumulation of indestructible waste and the irreversible damage they cause to Nature, leave indelible traces both in the environment and in the conscience of individuals who, today more than ever, have been deprived of their points of reference, of the certainties that, erroneously, were presumed to be immutable.
Yet, these months of lockdown represent, at the same time, a unique opportunity to concretely experience the path of degrowth, the authentic value of frugality and the ability to think about sustainable and compatible processes with our environment.
It is on these convictions that the works of Mara Fabbro and Alberto Pasqual are based in the exhibition curated by Alessandra Santin and hosted in the two exhibition rooms on the main floor of Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, a historic building owned by I.P.A.V. (Venetian Public Assistance Institutions), managed by Venezia Foundation for Personal Services through the “Hidden Jewels of Venice” cultural enhancement project. The exhibition was organized by Dform Srl through its brand specialized in museum installations Theke Museum in Pasiano di Pordenone, in collaboration with the Giovanni Santin Foundation
The installations of the two artists – constantly in dialogue with each other – document the existential void of Man and the substantial fullness of natural space, now suffocated by the plastic residues so intrusive in our society: from the open-air landfills of our suburbs, to the microplastics of the oceans. And to remind us of this the first installation, which welcomes visitors at the foot of the famous Scala: a shower of plastic bags evokes the “End of the fish”, suggesting the atrocious death by asphyxiation to which many marine species are condemned.
But this eternal material can also be regenerated, it can take on new forms, soaring in all its abstract sinuosity in Alberto Pasqual’s “Presenze-Absenze”, ghosts of buildings in an apocalyptic scenario; or in the “Metropolitan Membranes” by Mara Fabbro, transparent panels where the “void” of the support is opposed to the “full” of the matter of the pixels of sand, resin and glues that trace city maps. They are graphic, physical and visual representations of territories: crowded metropolises, desolate lands, cities crossed by rivers or overlooking the ocean, lands known and imagined at the same time.
Alberto Pasqual’s material works express the dynamics of the transition from empty to full, from transparency to opacity, from lightness to weight. The artist entrusts to iron, concrete or polycarbonate the intrinsic and visual strength of the material on which he imprints an intense gesture that interrupts the geometry of the traditional figure creating an unexpected and exciting aesthetic. A gesture that, as Pasqual explains, has always been at the center of his artisan knowledge, a “darting and decisive gesture, like the snap of a
whip. Like the blacksmith who hardens steel with primordial strength “.
The visit to the exhibition is an itinerary that can lead to renewing our awareness of the fragility of Nature and the need to defend it, profoundly changing our personal habits and collective.
In welcoming the works of the two Friulian artists in the spaces of Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, I.P.A.V. and Fondazione Venezia Servizi alla Persona wanted to testify that the commitment to building a sustainable future belongs to each of us; and that each of us is called to do our part.
The exhibition will remain open from 7 May to 31 August 2021,
from 10:00 to 18:00 (consult the website for updates on the days open to the public).

THEKE @ DIOCESAN HISTORICAL ARCHIVE OF CONCORDIA-PORDENONE
On Thursday 26 November 2020, some of our employees helped the entourage of the Historical Diocesan Archives of Concordia-Pordenone in arranging various historical documents.
The Historical Archive of the Diocese of Concordia-Pordenone has followed the events of the Christian community, of which it is a voice, in its itinerary: first in Concordia, then in Portogruaro (1586) and subsequently in Pordenone (1972), with the task of testifying the various moments in the life of the Diocese.
The most ancient document is a parchment of the bishop Romulus, datable to around 1190. This first document is followed by a long and copious series of testimonies that go down to the present day, quantifiable in 1763 parchments, 881 registers, 5500 cards, 1450 prints.
All the material is divided into funds: Bishops (pastoral letters, circulars and dispositions, administration of the Bishop’s canteen), Bishop’s Curia (appointment of parish priests, parish reports, processes in both civil and spiritual matters), Chapter of the Cathedral (capitular acts, mansionerie, prebends, administration), pastoral visits (reports of visits to individual parishes), parish archives (48 those currently present) merged following the 1976 earthquake and globally divided into registry office, factory, activity and religious life. Particular sectors are made up of the Maps, which present situations that no longer exist or are altered and therefore fundamental for the study of the territory, of the settlements and of the jurisdictions, and lastly of the Correspondence, which reveals a vast and varied gallery of characters.
For us at Theke it was an honor to be able to view and handle documents of such historical importance, therefore we publicly thank the Diocesan Museum and the Diocese of Concordia-Pordenone for choosing to have us carry out this delicate and prestigious task.

Theke @ Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo (Ve): exhibition “Ezio Gribaudo – Itineraries: New York Venice Turin”.
As part of the events for the 90th birthday of the artist Ezio Gribaudo, Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo organized an exhibition that celebrates him, exhibiting works that retrace an itinerary that touches on three important stages for his work: Turin – his hometown – Venice – where he won the prize for graphics at the 1966 Biennale – New York – the city that marks the culmination of his friendship with Lucio Fontana following the presentation of his book at the Martha Jackson Gallery in New York.
The Bovolo exhibits paintings, documents and photographs that trace the artist’s career and the works of the artists that Gribaudo meets during his career: his friend Lucio Fontana, Giorgio de Chirico and Karen Appel.
The exhibition takes place over a period of time that starts from 1961 and arrives at the end of the 1970s, telling the story of a provocative and multifaceted character.
The construction project and the direction of the works are by the architect Giovanni Di Vito of the Studio Vitruvio, for which we have created the exhibition structures under the Theke brand. The graphics of the exhibition were designed by Chiara Grandesso.
The exhibition is open to the public from 11/15/2019 to 04/30/2020.read more >
